Last Thursday (30 August), the Community Trust’s annual Charity Golf Day took place at Bolton Golf Club, with 20 teams taking part in another hugely successful event.
After 18 holes of golf which took four hours on a course that was in tremendous condition in glorious sunshine, the winning team was ‘Richard Hurst’.
The vast majority of the teams were made up of sponsors and partners opting to significantly involve themselves in an enjoyable event which supported the Bolton Wanderers Community Trust.
Former Wanderers stars John McGinlay and David Lee featured for ‘Aures Technologies’, with their former team mate Tony Kelly travelling round the course on a buggy, providing the team with refreshments during the afternoon.
A BWFC Former Players team captained by John Thomas also entered the competition, with the Community Trust entering a three-man team mate up of Richard Slater, Paul Huddy and Chris McCoy.
Organisations such as the PFA, Bolton at Home and Warburton’s had teams representing them in the tournament which overall brought a high-standard of golf, with plenty of keen golfers in action on the course.
Afterwards in the clubhouse, all of the teams sat down and socialised with refreshments with the winning team announced – capping a superb day.
