Last Friday, the ‘Every Player Counts’ Disability Football Festival took place at The Eddie Davies Academy with around 100 children of various ages present to participate in a selection of enjoyable activities in the Bolton sunshine.
On a glorious day, the children – accompanied by their group leaders and teachers/tutors, spent two hours on the artificial grass football pitch, taking part and succeeding in activities ranging from shooting and passing drills, to an event that included a 12 foot tall inflatable dart board – and when they needed refreshments, the children even had the opportunity to make their own healthy and tasty fruit smoothies by pedalling a bicycle!
Present at the event were twelve groups from schools and educational organisations in Bolton district. Also making an appearance to entertain the children and even partake in some of the activities was Bolton Wanderers’ very own mascot, LJ.
